Lost broken blade and spare key - Ford Ranger 2017
All Keys Lost and an extra spare key for a Ford Ranger 2017 in Birmingham.
Received the call from the customer who only had 1 key for their Ford Ranger 2017 - unfortunately the blade had broken on the remote and had gone missing.
He had some over the top prices for the service before I recieved the call.
In this case the job was quite simple in that I had to pick open the door (or ignition) with my Mr Lishi HU101 pick. Once Picked the lock can be decoded with the key bitting noted and programmed into my XHorse key cutter.
With a new blade now cut I was able to test the key in the lock and more importantly in the ignition. With this task complete I used my Autel 508 key programmer to add a new spare key, using the old fob and the new blade, with a totally fresh spare.
With a new spare key in the system, I dismantled the old fob and re-shelled it with a new blade.
The reason I added the spare key first was because when you are re-shelling the old remote, it often destroys the internals which would make adding a spare key more difficult thereafter.
An all keys lost job can range in price significantly, but I was able to help the customer get back on the road quickly and even re-shelled the old remote for good measure.
